Born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania as the first generation son of two immigrants, Edan grew up around a declining steel industry with ever narrowing and limited opportunities to achieve the “American Dream”.
The culture of rigid and tough masculinity demonstrated through success at sports became a means to survive and be accepted but also a crutch when 9/11 and a growing war culture created contradictions in morals from the very same people he once trusted.
After meeting and developing the most important relationship of his life with his friend and then wife, Chelsea, Edan found another way of life-art music, and activism- and through it began reforming his key relationships and reconciling with his past.
Edan came to Southern California in 2013 and quickly became involved in the fight to win mental health rights for all patients and providers as a union organizer for the National Union of Healthcare Workers. He lives in South Pasadena with his wife and twin sons and loves parenting and participating in the development of their sons in all ways.
